This study measures the developmental feature of 3~5-year-old children'stheory of mind and inhibitory control and do a futher research on the relationshipbetween theory of mind and inhibitory control. Using the 3~7-year-old childtemperament scale inventory by Tomas & Chess, PTQ, revised by Wang Yufeng &Zhang Jinsong, We do a exploratory investigation on the relationship oftemperament, IC and ToM.The results show that: the feature of age in 3~5-year-old children issignificant. ToM and IC have the same developmental critical period. Either inToM or IC, there aren't significant differences between sex. The study on thedifferent components of theory of mind shows that the period when children canunderstand their own false belief comes earlier than the period when theyunderstand others' false belief. Children's passive IC ability develops earlier thanactive IC ability. According to our research, ToM and IC of 3~5-year-old childrenare closely related. IC can forecast the development of ToM. The relationshipbetween temperament and ToM varies in different age group. So are the relationshipbetween temperament and IC.
