Japan is a neighboring country of a long-standing history of cultural communication with China. The Japanese Emperor System was based on, yet as well as differentiated from the Chinese Monarchism. Current study attempts to probe into the divergent psychological factors that result in the differences in the emperor systems between these two countries from the perspective of their faith values.The faith of Divine Providence in Chinese traditional Confucianism provided theoretical foundations for the Emperor System with legitimate identification from Thearchy onto the Earthliness. Japan stepped into the feudal society after the establishment of Tennou-system-centered centralization mechanism by imitating the political and economical frames of Sui and Tang dynasties of China. The Japanese Rulers quoted, reorganized and absorbed the faith of Divine Providence into Localization based on the original Shinto (Japanese religion). The differences lying between China and Japan on the connotation of the faith of Divine Providence offered distinct theoretical bases for the Monarchisms of these two countries and resulted in their different characteristics.We can get a comparative clear idea of the differences between Chinese and Japanese in their national spirit and mentality through the investigations into their values of traditional believes, which will in turn facilitate the communication between these two countries.
