Study On The Corresponce Of LiuZongyuan

Liu Zongyuan's works take an important role in Chinese literature. The research on Liu Zongyuan is very prosperous. However, there has hardly been research on his corredpondence except two thesises. This thesis intends to find out Liu's complicated state of mind in his demotion peirod through an analysis on Liu Zonyuan's correspondence instead of the steretyped objects of research.With the middle period of Tang Dynasy its social backgroud and hiu's corresponce its main object of research, this thesis is discussed in three aspects and takes a method of both comprehensive and specific. First, it categorizes all hiu's correspondence according to their contents for the research on his complicted state of mind; Second, through analyzing the characteristics of his corresponce in a aesthetic lens, it furtherly establishes hiu's crucial role in Chinese literature, indentifying that Liu's has the same superb skills as his other works; Third, it mainly focuses on the reasons and representations of Liu's complicated state of mind seen from the contents and aesthetic value of his correspondence and also from his personal and social background.
