Between the Confucian philosopher and the Confucian poets,there is some kind of opposite phenomenon, which is how to face sadnessand happiness in life.The Theory of Zeng Dian derived from The Analects of Confuciusindicated the Confucian ideal of life which was in pursuit of aesthetic,free and joyful poetic survival. On the other hand, there are differentexplanations towards life in the Confucian poets. In their literaturecreations there are usually full of Pessimistic emotion such as anxiety orsadness. The Qiong Gong Poetics is their representative. This articleemphatically discusses the oppositions and the connections between theConfucian philosophy and poetical theory in the environment of theConfucian culture.The dissertation is mainly composed of three sections-theleading dissertation, the main section and the epilogue. In the leading part,I introduced the origin and several highly representative researchers ofthis subject. The main portion of the paper was divided in four chapters:the first chapter outlined the connotation of The Theory of Zeng Dianand the Confucian philosophy of life and poetical theory. The secondchapter probed into the historical origin of Qiong Gong poetics anddiscussed the expressions in artistic creations. The first two chaptersmay be regarded as the background of the paper. The third chapteremphatically analyzed the oppositions between The Theory of ZengDian and Qiong Gong poetics in the following aspects—the oppositionsof leadership areas; the constitution in psychology of poetical subjectivity;"inner sage" and "sensation of subject". The forth chapter discussed theconnection between The Theory of Zeng Dian and Qiong Gong poetics in paradoxical structure and concerning for the mankind. In the epilogueof the paper, I emphasized my viewpoints about the whole paper, whichbased on combing the content of the four chapters. And it also pointed outthe important sense of studying the subject in modem times.
