The 21st century witnesses a remarkable progress in the field of contemporary folk vocal music. The greatest achievement is the fact that the vocalizing and singing skills have become far more scientific after Belcato gets absorbed an internalized. With this improvement are the tremendous increase of mastery and expression of the work by the singer and a mushroom of excellent folk vocal musicians. However, there is a long-lasting controversy about the relative importance of method and style. The mass and medium have also raised criticism and doubt against the "unison" phenomena.The message this thesis is trying to conveying is a macro-control concept on the development of folk vocal music, endeavoring to inspire, among those folk musicians, a sense of responsibility. That is, we must face the truth that folk vocal music with one merely a single school thriving can never be the essence of Chinese folk vocal music. We should do our best to initiate and develop a multi-faceted development of Chinese folk vocal music, facilitating its mature and melioration through practice, providing a warm bed for the diverse vocal music styles and schools, until we establish a complete and sound theoretical, practical and teaching system of Chinese folk vocal music.In practice, this thesis will, in the form of 3 chapters, i. e. opening-up, expansion and boundary-crossing, recapitulates the methods by which Chinese folk vocal music can liberate, its thought, expand its frontier, inherit the traditional musical forms, adopt new way of expressing, obtain fresh breakthrough based upon combination of the traditional and the popular, until a new height is reached. To be more concrete in respect of teaching and learning, this thesis also proposes that we must not neglect demand of the mass and market and aim at a positive interaction among teaching, performing and marketing of our folk vocal music. We also call for the acceptance, support and aids from the medium, and only in this way can we develop a standard and unique contemporary folk vocal music of us.The development of Chinese folk vocal music is a wide-ranged issue, requiring both attention of the medium and the public and breakthrough by our music college in the field of curriculum-designing. With concrete teaching and learning as the point of departure, we need not only bring about mature and practical plan but also hard work and devotion on the part of the whole folk music area and the general workers in this area. Only in this way can we comply with our belief that the good tradition of our nation is actually international possession. |
