This thesis, with application of resultatives theory in the book Typology ofresultative constructions and Chen(2007), is studying resultatives and some relativequestions in Hanshou dialect from a perspective of typologies. It divides into the nextseveral steps:Firstly, make a general introduction to general framework of describing aspectualsystem, following a review to the existing studies. Based on these theories, introducethe aspectual system of Xiang dicalect.Secondly, intruduce aspectual system of Hanshou dialect accoording to theframework, There are four continuative markers in Hanshou dialect, that is"qi,di,dao, can", and all of these markers can denote more than one aspectual meanings, but"can"is not common.Thirdly, analyze resultative of Hanshou dialect.Acording to the thoery in thebook Typology of resultative constructions, Resultative of Hanshou dialect can bedivided into four categories, ten subclasses. The aspectual marker"dao"can be usedin four subclasses,"qi"can be used in three subclasses,"di"can be used in sixsubclasses. Then some relative dissussions followed:the paths in grammaticalizationfrom resultative to progressive and from resultative to perfective can bespeculated;the functon of aspectual marker"a"can be redefined that"a"can beperfective or resultative marker in the structure"LM+V+ASP+NP". There are fourresultative markers, each marker can match different verb. According to the verb'sprossess structure theory in Guo(1993), classify the verbs into five categories, tensubclasses. Then analyze which markers can denote stronger stative meaning andwhich can denote stonger resultative meaning. At the end, a conclusion was made to the previous study.
