Vocabulary's image coloring research is a branch of words meaning research, more specifically, it is an organic component of study to words coloring significance .Mr.Ge Benyi had said:"the study to words coloring significance is both ancient and novel question in fact , so-called ancient refers to long existence of study to coloring significance ,so-called novel refers to many researches of coloring significance have just begun ,"It can be said that the former scholars study more to words rational significance, but the study to significance of coloring is not very high degree of concern. Most of only some researches of coloring significance also concentrate on words sentimental coloring. In view of this, this paper makes image coloring, one of the words coloring significance, as a key research target. I strive for further study to image coloring and overall study to coloring significance through comprehensive survey and analysis to image coloring and a series of issues related to it.First, emphatically elaborate on name and definition of image coloring in the first part. Be clear what kind of word to have image coloring, and what kind of word to not have image coloring, then on this basis, analyze the relationship between image coloring and rational significance and between image coloring and other coloring significance.Second, According feeling, the parts of speech, the rhetoric, structure, reflecting image 5 different angels we carried on detailed classifications. So we can study image coloring from a number of different perspectives.Third, we analyzed 5 features of image coloring by comparison with other coloring significances.Finally, to the formation reasons, the formation conditions and expression functions has done the explored research. From the objective existence, the main body aspect, cognitive linguistics 3 angles, thoroughly promulgated the reasons of image coloring, focused on cognition root. The paper deepened the reason theories of image coloring with reference to the contemporary principles of cognitive linguistics. The study of formation conditions of image coloring concluded that the formation of image coloring is a combined action result of objective foundation, language foundation, psychological foundation. Finally on the above study basis, analyzed expression function of image coloring which is also its effects.
