The union of Kalmar was consisted of five mediaeval countries in Scandinavia:Denmark, Sweden, Norway ,Finland, Iceland. It was formed in 1397,and was broken up in 1523.It existed about one hundred years.It played a vital part in the history of Scandianvia.It followed the past history of Scandianvia,and it leaded the future history of Scandianvia.This article illustrated the historic process of Union of Kalmar.This paper expounds this project from three aspects:the reasons of the establishment of the Union of Kalmar ,the course of it and the early actions of it,the process of its disaggregation,the deep reasons of its disaggregation. In the end ,this article analyse the historic meaning of the Union of Kalmar..The background of the establishment of the union of Kalmar was that nobles controlled the political power of Scandinavia.So the monarchs of in these five countries were powerless.In this condition ,any country in Scandinavia couldn't resist German merchant's monopoly in economy and government of Scandinavia independently.Denmark was the strongest country in these five countries.It played a leader part in the form of the Union of Kalmar.But Denmark's rule displeased other countries'aristocrats and the common people because its monarch wanted to found centralismlmar union and made Denmark predominated other countries in the Union of Kalmar.They levied a lot of insurgences.The union had to be broken upThe Union of Kalmr kept the unattached status of Scandianvia as a whole.Every countries in Scandinavia could develop its economy in a safe surroundings.It also could carry out its policy independently.In a word, it didn't controlled by the Union of Hansa.In the process of other countries against Denmark, their ethical consciousness was awakened.So the seed of Nation state appeared in every countries of ScandiaviaKalmar union accomplished its historic mission.
