The waltz of Vienna, which belongs to the Romanticism, plays a very important role in the world music. The waltz of Vienna origins in the middle of 19th century. And in this period, it is warmly welcomed by various classes and spreaded quickly.The composors of waltz of Vienna that the representative is Johann Strauss produce many outstanding works and these works are liked by music amateur all the time, it has a great influence on classic music and popular music, and the work of Johann Strauss of great representation.The produce of waltz of Johann Strauss is combined tightly with the folk and daily life music of Vienna. His waltz, which the melody is novel,rhythm is lively and arrange is appealing can be called symphonic poems of Vienna. The tune of his representative waltz is smooth and mellow, and the rhythm is free and young. Also he has changed the Landler, which is originated in the south Germany, into a different musical form--- simple structure,flexible rhythm and wonderful melody. This form plays an important role in citizen lives and it brings the folk waltz of Vienna to the whole world.In this paper, I conclude the art characteristics about his waltz through the introduction of Johann Strauss and analysis of his representative works.
