Both traditional and innovative ,the diversity of the backgrounds of print art has naturally produced an enormous variety of ideas as well as use of materials, styles and processes. From the end of the 20th ,New aesthetic considerations have been explored and aesthetic considerations often being inseparable from materials and techniques. Some of print art give expression to their ideas through singular traditional print media such as copper engraving, woodcut of stone lithography. Others employ an experimental approach with some new tools and materials .The availability today of large presses , electric tools and synthetic plate materials plus improved papers, rollers and inks, make experimental approaches inevitable. Numerous technological advantages have led print artists to an era of experimentation and discovery, but not all of these experiments have been focused on materials and technique.Printmakers are not unlike other artists in their search for a means of making contrasts. One way printmakers sometimes find the contrasts that they are looking for is by working with combined print processes. The tools and skills of lithography, silk-screen, relief ething or chine colle are sometimes called upon to produce a single edition of prints . Besides employing new materials , tools and techniques for all of the editionable processes, Some printmakers have also expanded the conceptual and technical boundaries for one-of-a-kind prints called monotypes. And forty years ago monotypes were not allowed in many print exhibitions. Photo-mechanical processes have been acceptable for over thirty years and recently the computer has become a tool for creating print imagery as well as appropriating elements from art history, magazines , photography or commercial art and combining any of these..It is well beyond the scope of this dissertation to analyze or critique contemaporary Digital Print art, as many styles are being pursued simultaneously and new styles continuously emerge and evolve; it doubtful that any single style will dominate print art in the foreseeable future. Over the sixty-year history of China`s"New Emerging"school of printmaking ,mutual exchange with foreign printmakers has been an important activity, Through exchange, Chinese and foreign printmakers can learn and benefit from each other, contributing to mutual development and the enrichment of the art of printmaking worldwide. The preeminent scholar and novelist, Lu Xun ,to whom the"New Emerging"school owes its start, stressed early on the significance of Sino-foreign exchange in printmaking. He spared no efforts toward the realization of his vision the introduction to China of outstanding prints from around the world. He first gave the work of foreign printmakers exposure with a showcase entitled, This diversity of contemporary styles is reflected in the Digital Print of modern printmakers .
