In this paper, we show the status of Su Mo in Traditional Chinese Paintings by analyzing the relations between pen and ink and Traditional Chinese Paintings, ink and Traditional Chinese Paintings, Su Mo and Traditional Chinese Paintings. I summarize the characteristics of vision and aesthetics, and sum up Su Mo's exertion in Traditional Chinese Paintings and its development history, Further we set forth the significance of researches of Su Mo in Traditional Chinese ink portrait Paintings's innovation. We exemplify Binhong Huang and Sanming Wu to analyze the reasons why they made great achievements in Traditional Chinese Paintings, and find the road to success is innovation and breakthroughs from Traditional Chinese Paintings'interior.With the development of globalization, Traditional Chinese Paintings, a part of Chinese traditional culture, face many new opportunities and challenges. Traditional Chinese Paintings need innovation, modernization and the spirit of times to turn into modern arts. The status quo of contemporary Chinese Portrait Paintings with free styles indicates because of deficient understandings of philosophical ideas and souls of pen and ink of Traditional Chinese Paintings, many artists lack adequate cognition and inheritance to tradition. The innovation and exploration of Traditional Chinese Paintings focus much on changing by studying the West, pay attention to the picture crafts and regard the West as modernity. Now the breakthroughs in language elements, ink researches of Traditional Chinese Paintings'interior, are few. Based on the success of innovation of Chinese ink Portrait Paintings, we revealed that the innovation of Traditional Chinese Paintings must be made breakthroughs in Traditional Chinese Paintings'interior on forms. Chinese ink Portrait Paintings should learn from landscape, flower and bird paintings to assimilate essential merit, and should be constitute new aesthetic value and aesthetics.
