The National Characetristics Yan'an Lu Xun Art Academy's Woodcut Art Decoration Art

According to the spirit of Mao Zedong's Talks on Literary and Art Forum, this article analyses the national characteristics of woodcut art of Yan'an Lu Xun Art Academy. It also analyses that, divided by the Talks, how the style of woodcut art has been handed down from tradition and how it changed its style before and after the Talks. Before the Talks, there was budding of national characteristics in woodcut art, but it was still greatly influenced by the European style. After the Talks, the style of woodcut art made fundamental changes in its style.The woodcut artists went into the countryside and merged with the local people and founded their art roots deeply buried into the fertile soil of the folk art in the north of Shaanxi Province. They generalized and explored the artistic charm of the folk art, actively took in its essence, gradually gave less prominence to the European influence. They made use of its essence and took the forms of the style of the folk art with new contents so that they created woodcut works full of national characteristics.The article confirm the national characteristics of woodcut art of Yan'an Lu Xun Art Academy by tracing the historical process of the establishment and development of Yan'an Lu Xun Art Academy and by analyzing its woodcut masterpieces.
