| Since the 1990s , the digital wave based on computer and information technology has rapidly engulfed the entire world with an irreversible momentum. This wave has changed human evolutionary process extensively and will deeply continue to do so. Undoubtedly, the form of the network world characterised by internet is the most significant event in this wave. On one hand, the network world is changing the living and thinking mode of the people, on the other hand, the practice of human being itself can also exert a persistent influence on the development of the network world.Making positive response to the transformation of times is the lifeblood of philosophy in a sense. Therefore, it is indispensable to study the essential properties of the network world which is increasingly closer to people's life in philosophical viewpoint. That will contribute to our further understanding and reformation about the network world. The first part of the thesis looks back the history of the development of the network world, and then outlines its current stage . In the thesis the network world mainly refers the information world based on the internet technology and virtual technology, in which people can have the participant feelings, and may interact on each other. It has a few characteristics, such as openness, interaction, timelessness, spacelessness, and simulation. And then, this part explains the concepts of computation and information thoroughly and meticulously. In general, computation is regarded as the process of information. The meanings of computation and information are grasped by analyzing the dialectical relation and the dynamic interdependence process between them. After analyzing the network organization, cognitive subject and the interaction between subject and object in the network world, the conclusion is drawn that one of the essential properties of the network world is computation. On the second part of the thesis it is elaborated that the computational complexity of the network world as an open system which presents in the dynamic developing process. Focused on the analysis of the self-organization in the changing process of the network world, the self- evolvement which presents in the whole developing process, the sensitive to initial information, the coevolution among the network active nodes, the emergence which creates new characters of cyberspace, and the self-similar characteristic of structure and function of the network, it is indicated that these phenomena have reflected another essential property of the network world called complexity. The third part of the thesis emphasizes an investigation on the relationships among the network world, the actual world, and the Karl Popper's world 3 based on the analysis of computation and complexity. It is indicated that the unified foundation of the network world and other worlds(specially the network world and the actual world) is that these worlds are computational and complex from the ontological viewpoint.Based on the foregoing chapters, the last part elaborates the profound influence on the way of social practice, human's thinking mode as well as the social civilization and the development drawn by the network world. It is proved that the network world has expanded human's practical domain, strengthened human's creativity, and enormously promoted the progress of human civilization and cultural as an sub-world supported by the new technology. The innovation of the thesis is that the two essential properties of the network world have been thoroughly researched, and proving that it is the representation of the ontological computational complexity that the network world is diversified and is changing constantly. Based on these it is stated further that the different sub-worlds can obtain unity in the sense of computation and complexity, which will deepen our recognition and comprehension of the essence of the world. |
