| As a unique form of Chinese culture, the inscription materials provide valuable historical data to the study of history. Pingliang's inscriptions expand the scope of Local History and strengthen its depth. Pingliang's inscriptions on religion take Kongtong and Jingchuan as centers and then extend to the whole Pingliang area. These religious inscriptions' content concentrate on three aspects: Taoism, Buddhism and The folk beliefs.With the harmonious co-existence of Taoism and Buddhism in Kongtong, large amounts of inscriptions are left behind. And by elaborating and studying these inscriptions, this article reveals the rough course of Taoism and Buddhism' development in Kongtong.There are plenty of stone inscriptions in Jingchuan. Most of them have extremely great value. With introducing the carving process of these stone inscriptions and some related historical events, this article shows us again the rise and fall of Taoism and Buddhism in Jingchuan.The inscription materials of folk beliefs spread the whole district of Pingliang. And they are miscellaneous. Through analysis these materials, this article discusses the problem that Pingliang has formed peculiar God Qiu and frontier fortress heros' beliefs because of the influence of geographical environment and position. |
