On Deworkin's Equality

The topic of cotemporary political philosophy is freedom and equality, while the whole human history of could be viewed as a process of pursuing freedom and equality. But, freedom and equality did not become the most important political value until 17th century. Among them, Rawl's"distributive justice", Deworkin's"equality in resources"are all concerned with equality in economics. This essay is an explanation of Deworkin's thoughts, and hope to contribute to our practice in the resolving of inequality.The first part of this essay is about the Deworkin's thoughts on rights. And Deworkin's opinion of rights is based on his equality; to him, right is a person to be treated as equally as all the others, not to gain the an equal share in the process of distribution. Dworkin's moral right, through "legal positivism" and "utilitarian" explained the criticism. Therefore, he concluded that "the right to be treated seriously," because the right is essential, because it represents the majority of the people to respect the dignity and equality of minority promised……If the government does not give the right to respect for the law, it can not rebuild respect for the law. If the government ignored the difference between legal orders barbaric, it will not be able to rebuild respect for the law. If the government does not take seriously, then it will not be able to seriously deal with the law. This article is the second chapter of the concept of equality– equal resources.
