The Yellow River, which is the mother river of the Chinese nationality, hasbred the blood vessels of the Chinese nationality for 5000 years. Hukou falling, lying in the QinJin Canyon of the Yellow River, is such turbulent current and beach that connects Shaanxi province with shanxi province from ancient time, and is a key way linking up the south and north of China.History entrusts him with two basic functions:military important location and the wharf which takes on the task of transiting between the flood and land. In the record of two thousand years, Hukou transited between the two above frequently. This article elaborates the ferry spot of Hukou in so many aspects as the historical procession of formation, improvement, vicissitution and decline in military and trade, and the transformation of roles nowadays. Through on-the-spot investigation and historical data records, the article summarizes the traits of the cultural heritages in Hukou currently. It screens and studies the historical value, article value, scientific value and economic value of Hukou heritage from many different directions leading to a corresponding conclusion.Besides, the article proposes the way of solving problems of the paragenesis between cultural heritages and natural heritages in Hukou, states the success and failure of protecting cultural heritages, and studies the method of protecting and using cultural heritages. These are vitally significant in historic and cultural value to the protection of Hukou historic cultural heritage and the construction and improvement of Hukou Waterfall scenic spot area, and they can play an important role in instructing construction from now on.
