Language is the most important tool for communication and also one of the most important parts of culture. With more and more international communication, English is becoming a working language of the world of different peoples. With a long historical standing, China features a special and rich culture. Since the implement of Chinese policies of reform and opening up to the outside world, China English appears in the translations. With the development of Chinese economy and culture, there appears, in an unprecedently fast speed, in the translation the ever-increasing amount of China English, which is different from nonstandard Chinese English. It is of great realistic significance to study China English. This thesis studies China English in six chapters. The first chapter is the introductory part in which the author of the thesis has a brief review of the recent studies of China English in China. Chapter two studies the formation of China English. China English is the result of the cultural exchange between the east and the west over a long period of time. It is formed through the language communication between Chinese and English-using world, and among others, through translation. The third chapter compares the differences between China English and Chinese English followed by an introduction to Pidgin English followed. Then the thesis points out that although most of expressions in Chinese English and Pidgin English are nonstandard, it is believed that some of them can possibly be transformed into China English and melt into Standard English. Chapter Four analyzes the importantfunction of culture promotion of China English in an English setting. Chapter Five studies China English from translational perspective. The author makes a brief introduction to different strategies used in China English translation by analyzing examples of China English. The author also points out that foreignization strategy should be adopted in priority in translating Chinese culture-loaded words for the purpose of Chinese culture promotion. Finally it is concluded that China English is a realistic phenomenon and has gradually been accepted worldwide. Translators should be aware of the changing context in the light of related translation theories and be brave to use English language to express what is special and unique of China in order to promote the profoundly rich culture of China in intercultural communication.
