Impact Of Sino-Anglo Code-switching Upon The Syntax Of Modern Chinese

Language is such a complex thing as the society is. Code-switching, as an inevitable consequence of bilingualism, is an inevitable consequence of language contact, dutifully exerts impact upon both languages involved. The impact can be found in various aspects of language. This thesis focuses its detailed studies on the impact of English-Chinese Code-switching upon the syntax of modern Chinese.The thesis consists of six chapters. Chapter one is an introduction to the whole thesis. Chapter two is a literature review, in which related theories about code-switching phenomenon are reviewed. Chapter three analyzes the examples in literary writings from both grammatical aspect and sociolinguistic aspect. Chapter four states the impact upon modern Chinese syntax. Chapter five suggests how to prevent language change and language planning from the negative influence of Code-switching. Chapter six is a conclusion, which includes the review of the whole thesis and the main findings.
