This thesis, for the first time, conducts an overall research on the three groups (Bang/Duan/Jing) of consonants in old Luodong dialect with experimental phonetic methods. Furthermore, it analyzes and summarizes in detail the accent of the three groups of consonants from acoustic and phonological perspectives. Lastly, it gives a coherent explanation to the voiced implosives of BangDuanBingDing initials, voiceless plosives of JingQing initials and lateral fricative of CongXinXie initials with the theories of language contact and interlanguage fossilization. The thesis thinks that they are all the relics of Zhuangdong aboriginals which are formed by the ways of fossilized interlanguage, the result of learning Chinese by the Zhuangdong aboriginals. On the other hand, the pronounciation of Luodong residents is continually disturbed by the special interlanguage with relic pronunciation, which become more and more alike in timbre and sound category. |
