| This research aims at improving the mental health conditions of the students of Yi nationality, Jingpo nationality, and then improves their English learning effectively.A series of research work was carried out on mental problems of minorities' students, mainly includes primary and secondary students come from Yi nationality. Jingpo nationality in Shilin Yi Autonomous County and Xishuanbanna Dai & Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, China. Researchers took both qualitative and quantitative methods in the investigations. Concerning the data collection of mental problems of these minorities' students, researchers mainly used Symptom Check List-90 (SCL—90) scale, General Anxiety Test (GAT) scale. About English learning questionnaire, three scales or questionnaires were taken: Personal Information Questionnaire, Basic Situations of English Learning for Pupils and English Autonomous Learning Questionnaire for Middle School Students. Data of the investigation had been processed by SPSS-10 statistic software, which includes descriptive statistics, t-test, product-moment correlation and multivariate analysis of variance. The results show these mental problems among the minorities' students in their both ordinary living and English learning is very serious. The mental health level and English level of these minorities' students were not only quite different with those students who living in innerland, coastal regions, but also very worse than that of local students of Han nationality, especially for those students who come from minor's, poorer, remote and bordering areas.Hence, according to theories and methods of educational psychology, cognitive psychology, applied psychology, clinical psychology and rules of foreign languages teaching, researchers try to use methods to solve both mental problems of these minorities' students and problems in their English learning: 1.
