This thesis explores the lost black soul from three aspects. African Americans are being maimed and taught by the white beauty standards that oppressed them, they unconsciously adopt and internalize the white beauty standards in their family, community and even their daily lives. They develop self-loathing gradually believing they are ugly being black. African American males are made impotent and dehumanized by white people and white culture. They are trying to reestablish their manhood upon their transferred oppression on the inferior African American females who are more vulnerable and powerless than they. While in case of racism and sexism African American females'womanhood and motherhood are being distorted. And they are invisible in the eyes of whites and males. Even they themselves refuse to see themselves. Fortifying black subjectivity needs love and mutual understanding rather than hate and blame between African American males and females. One of the ways to avoid losing the black people's soul is to return to their own self and ethnic culture.
