This article is focused on the Doctor-patient Verbal Communication and based on the theoretical system of rhetorical principles. The main study is made on the appropriateness of doctors' linguistic expression in the course of this kind of communication. It is divided into six parts. Firstly, it is about the general introduction about the studying significance, current situation, studying approach, and theoretical frame of the appropriateness for the linguistic communication between doctors and patients. Secondly, it is about the account of chief components of linguistic communication between doctors and patients and the analysis of the process and characteristics of this kind of communication. Thirdly, it is focused on the definition, scientific foundation and evaluative standards of its appropriateness. Fourthly, it is about the analysis of communicative errors in such a communication. It is focused on the expressions and reasons for the errors in the communicative appropriateness. Fifthly, it is about the realization of the appropriateness of such a linguistic communication. On the basis of the above-mentioned evaluative standards and communicative errors, the approaches to realizing its appropriateness are put forward, especially in terms of contents and forms. Lastly but not the least important, it is about the conclusion. Based on the above discussion, the generalization is made about the main ideas and contents. Then the aspects of this topic are exposed for the further study.
