| Guided by the theory of translation aesthetics, this thesis sets out to make a tentative and systematic study on the transference of artistic concept in literary translation. The transference of artistic concept in literary translation is a very significant yet difficult subject to be explored. The difficulties mainly rest with the complexity of the aesthetic constituents of artistic concept. The thesis conducts a tentative yet systematic analysis of aesthetic constituents in literary translation and points out that the artistic concept consists of the three main aesthetic constituents, namely, image, emotion, and images beyond images. On the basis of the understanding that the creation of artistic concept is actually completed by both the author and the reader, the present thesis makes a detailed analysis about subjective creativity of the translator-reader in the process of transferring artistic concept. Taking the transference of artistic concept as an aesthetic activity, the thesis is also devoted to the study on the process of aesthetic activity. Finally, the present thesis makes an elucidation about factors arising from aesthetic object and aesthetic subject, which affect the transference of artistic concept in literary translation. |
