Optimality Theory's Study On The Tone Sandhis Of Jining Dialect

Jining dialect refers to the dialect of the central district and the Rencheng district. It belongs to the Zhongyuan mandarin of the North dialect area , and is put under the Xilu sub-dialect in the whole Shandong dialect. Jining dialect has many characteristic tone sandhis , some of them has verified many conclusions of modern phonology and phonetics . Although , Optimality Theory is a new theory of phonology , it has special abilities of explanation and stronger serviceability . To analyse Jining dialect with Optimality Theory will not only verify the theory but also opens up one kind of new train of thought for the research of Jining dialeat.The dissertation mainly use the method of integration of depiction with analysis and the method of integration of static state with development . Firstly , we analysed the Jining dialect delicately , then , we research into it with Optimality Theory . This dissertation holds seven chpters :The first chapter, Introduction . Including general situation of Jining, the boundary fixed for Jining dialect , the significance of the topic , the situation of current study , material and method, transcriptional symbol and so on .The second chapter , Phonetic general situation of Jining dialect . We sum up the phonetic characteristics and inside differences of Jining dialect upon the delicate analysis of Jining dialect's phonology .The third chapter , The brief introduction of Optimality Theory . We simply introduced the fundamental theory and express way of Optimality Theory .The forth chapter, The two-segment tone sandhi of Jining dialect. We sum up laws of two-segment tone sandhi upon the delicate depict and analysed them with Optimality Theory.The fifth chapter , The three-segment tone sandhi of Jining dialect. Three-segment tone sandhi is built mainly on the two-segment tone sandhi basis . So we researched into it with the method of giving examples . At the same time , for avoiding mixing three-segment tone sandhi and intonation up , we chose examples from three different ways . And finally analysed them with Optimality Theory .The sixth chapter, The light syllable tone sandhi of Jining dialect. We depicted the laws of light syllable tone sandhi delicately and researched the language phenomenon from semantic ways . Then we listed some common light syllable words and use Optimality Theory to analyse the laws of light syllable tone sandhi.The seventh chapter , Conclusion . A simple introduction about what I had learned from the writing.
