Research On The Use Of English Learning Strategies Of On-job Adult Learners

During the past years, as an English teacher, I observed that even if my adult students want to learn English well, they couldn't get good result for the bad studying method. Under my observation and analysis, I realize that not because of their intelligence but without good learning method or strategies, which made their failure of English learning. That is to say, they are lack of the use of learning strategies, or many of them even have no idea about the learning strategies when they study English. With the development of studying learning strategies and the practice of them, people realize the importance of it. So how do they get those strategies, and how do they can use the strategies freely after class becomes this dissertation's topic.Chapter 1 Introduction. In this chapter the author mainly discuss the reason of choosing the topic, the theoretical and realistic meaning, and the research method.Chapter 2 Studying Process of Language Learning Strategies. These chapters introduces the background of learning strategies study, and summarize the stages of strategies study, and point out the studying disadvantages of learning strategies.Chapter 3 Summarization of Language learning Strategies. In this chapter the author harvest the language learning strategies experts' fruits to the development of the dissertation.Chapter 4 Survey of On-job adult language learner's Strategies. By using SPSS to analyze the questionnaire and four hypothesis factors, in order to find out the deficiency of using strategies and to provide support for the strategies training.Chapter 5 Acquisition of Language Learning Strategies. This chapter mainly analyze whether the strategies can be taught or not, and bring forward the advice of how to acquire the strategies.
