Jewish culture has a strong uniqueness .So it's an key question for Jews to deal with mainstream culture harmoniously in housing Country. There has an deep tradition of Anti-Semitism in Eastern European countries .Eastern European Jews usually insist their cultural identity in introversion, so it appears that Jewish culture was incompatible with mainstream society. Then the Eastern European country's pogroms and collective persecution force the Jews to escape there collectively.After immigrated to America, the social environment that the Eastern European Jewish immigrants faced has had a big change, they tried to play a positive role and Americanization in American society, and by two generation of people's joint effort, they obtained the promotion in economic status, stepped out the first step of Americanization. However, the price was heavy. In this article I will try to draw up the reasons of the Eastern European Jew to America. Then I will discuss the course that they created the new life there.The thesis is divided five chapters:The first chapter outlines the studies of the current Chinese academic circles about the American Jew and the reasons of selected topic. The second chapter summarizes the Eastern European Jew in the original housing country's condition, analysis Anti-Semitic tide creates them to immigrate US'S reasons. The third chapter analysis the relations between immigrants themselves, and the relations between immigrants and the mainstream non- Jew, outlines the reasons of the immigrant success . The fourth chapter analysis the process of their Americanization and the following identity dilemma. The fifth chapter carries on the summary to the full text.
