We lack the necessary modesty when we face to language, which make us never get to language before. "Lack" means that it is the existence appearance of people who live in metaphysics. And this lack mentioned above can not be made up by any technique. We can not regard "modesty" as an attitude nor a mode of behavior. We don't listen to what "modesty" is saying when we face to this word. So, that "we lack the necessary modesty" suggests the language never releases itself in Dasein's existence just like what it is. But the "lack" encourages us to think in language, and it arouses our backing to language."Backing to language" does not mean we walk to an entity (for example language) defined or undefined, and hope to get near to it. Language refuses to be ascertained to be any entity essentially. Heidegger's thinking in language started in phenomenology, which leads us to pay more attention on phenomenon-as-it-is. Heidegger liberated our trains of thought from the confusion between entity and Being. He pointed out that the history of metaphysics was the history of our missing Being, which suggested that the history of metaphysics was the history of our missing language. Heidegger made a distinction between entity and Being. He also made a distinction between language as entity and language as Being (language-as-it-is, language's Bing) in his thinking. According to this, he made it clear that the language we are backing to should not be an entity undiscovered.
