The Comparison Analysis Of The Questions In Chinese And English Versions Of Three Kingdoms

In this thesis, it begins the whole study from the relationship between meaning and expressing forms. Mainly with the method of induction, statistics, description and comparison, this thesis makes a detail analysis for the questions in Chinese and English versions of Three Kingdoms, also makes a synthetic study for the expression methods for questions and the differences in the two languages. Based on these studies and with the contact of the development of Chinese questions and English questions, this thesis investigates the features of the expressing methods in the two languages from the diachronic aspect.The first chapter is the introduction, here, after reviewing the former achievements and insufficiencies for the study of questions, the writer re-establishes the comparison criteria for questions in the two languages: according to the criterion of meanings and the degrees of questions, divide questions into three types----inquiring question, conjecturing question and asking in retort question; also according to different functions, each type is divided into special-referring question, yes-no question, selective question, and so on.In Chapter Two, according to the new criteria establishes in Chapter One, we make a detail description and comparison analysis to the questions in the two versions of Three Kingdoms.
