In modern literature, the concept of"Snowland Novel"employed with considerable confusion. As a kind of regional novel, the Snowland Novel has encounted frustation in its reading and writing even before attracting its due attention .The author endeavours to analyze the reasons involved and hopes to contribute to its future flourishing.The present paper draws on novels in Tibetan Literature between 1976-1986.Through careful classifieation and detailed analysis, It summalizes the characteristics of the Snowland Novel during this period.By analyzing various styles, subjects and scopes by different writes, the author tries outlining the developing course of the Snowland Novel experience three stages in its development, namely, the imitation period, the conversation period, and the conciousness period. During these periods, the snowland novel makes brilliant achievements. However, some neglects during the consciousness period lead to the frustration of the Snowland Novel after 1990.
