| What is presented here is a study of the acquisition of complex Chinese sentences viewed at a new angle—in a tentative manner both theoretically and practically. Benefited from the achievements in the research of discourse grammatical device and the acquisition of a second language, a close examination of the acquisition process of discourse grammatical device by foreign students has been made and analyzed. The methods used are the cross-sectional studies, the follow-up investigation survey by questionnaire and error analysis. The fundamental characteristics of the acquisition process are thus described and interpreted. To contribute to the Chinese teaching as a foreign language, a new approach towards the tuition of discourse grammatical device has been designed, in consideration of the aim, principle and methods of the tuition involved. |
