Design is based on culture. Modern people have raised a higher anticipation on design, thus made design no longer serve only for the purpose to realize the basic function of products. A designed object is more implied with artistical and cultural meanings rather than being a simplex tool. The corporeality of products is no longer the opposite of the spirituality as the cultrual function brakes the line between them. Thus, it is important and necessary for designers to dig the cultural functions of a product.Different communities have their own unique culture. College students are a unique cultural community in modern China. The memebers in this community have varied but higher value conceptions. They look after for personalities, taste and culture. The tremendous college student market wants the products to express the own varied characters of the modern students.This thesis concerns the culture strategy of products design under a paticular background. The author will take college students in China as the target community of the research, and analyze the campus culture which are base them, and also will take digital prducts as a material to study how to imply campus culture into the current design strategy.The first chapter of this thesis analyse the background of this research, and gives out some definations.The second chapter studies the history and the current feasibility of the topic.The third chapter corresponds campus culture with design method, which takes three sub sections: camopus consumption culture(as an important indicator of a group culture); the analyse of the current digital products in college market; and decoding the symbols of campus culture. Based on the first three chapters, the fourth chapter of this thesis will conclude the practice and the methods of the campus culture strategy of digital products design.The fifth chapter gives out some pratical examples of this topic.
