| There is a persent tense in Chinese.Tense relates the time of the situation referred to to some other time, usually to the moment of the speaking.The tenses referred to so far have all related the time of the situation described to the present moment,Such tenses are referred to as absolute tenses. Another possible form of tome reference is relative time reference where,instead of the time of a situation being located relative to the present moment,it is related to the time of some other situation.The commonest tenses found in languages - though not all languages distinguish these three tenses, or indeed distinguish tenses at all--are present,past,and future. A situation described in the present tense is located temporally as simultaneous with the moment of speaking. If a situation is habitual or persistent, that is to say, it is happened in the time of the utterance, we also look on it as present tense.This article analyses the Expression of Present Tense in Chinese from the view of syntax, semantics and pragmatics. We find that Chinese present tense system is often expressed by the lexical meaning, special structure, grammar form etc, and that lexical meaning is ond of the most important methods to express the present tense. For example, both time noun and time adverb can clearly mark the time when the event happens, and some special time structure also can locate the abosolute time position of the event. The particle "de" is present tense markers,and the aspect particle "zai" and "zai...zhong" have time deictic expression function. Some modal particles, such as "ne","le" also can mark present time.
