On the whole, the bronze culture in Jinsha River Valley is a kind of valley culture which includes Si and Zuodu cultures in northwest Yunnan as well as western Sichuan, Xi and Kunming culture in western Yunnan, Dian culture in southeast Yunnan, Qiongdu culture in northwest Sichuan.These regional cultures have their own characteristics. However, since the Late Neolithic Age, a steady cultural interation trend have been taken place. After the integration and absorption of the cultures among different regional cultures, all of these formed the co-tradition of Bronze culture in Jinsha River Valley. The process can be proved mainly by the burial practices and mortuary remains. These ingredients of the regional cultures along the Jinsha River were the basic structure of the Jinsha River Valley culture.This paper analyses the common ingredients of cultures among the different kinds of bronze cultures along the Jinsha River Valley, and briefly examines its formation from the aspect of ecological environment, economic formation and interaction of the cultures.In the preface, it summarizes the geographical area in the Jinsha River Valley and describes the research in chronology and scope, contemporary approaches, aims of this paper and the study methods.Section one expatiates on the basic characters of the bronze culture in the Jinsha River.
