Persevering For Half A Century

Kaiyuan Zhang, a preeminent expert in the realm of modern history of China, has engaged in the research for fifty-one years. His research touches upon the history of 1911 Revolution, Chinese bourgeois, the history of modernism and culture, early modernize of China, the history of church university in China, NanKing massacre and so on. And it can be say that his academic achievements and impace are distinguished and comprehensive. On the basis of using the former research for reference, combining with Kaiyuan Zhang's academic career and experiences, the author analyses and discusses the above-mentioned academic achievements and contributions systemically and comprehensively, and tries to probe into Kaiyuan Zhang's learning concept and historical ideology by using the theory and method of the historical materialism; and then makes a flank show about the uncommon academic track of the research on the Chinese modern history from 1950s on .
