With the development of society and the improvement of standard of living, people start to pursue the satisfaction of spirit. In the developing gift industry, people pay more and more attention to feeling communication. Though the gift market has a certain scale at present, but there are still so many mistakes in packaging design, and the need of consumers' feeling couldn't be meet. Be based on the fact of gift market, the analysis of current situation of design, and the review of gift packaging history, the article induces shortcomings of current gift packaging design. From the point of the design, it introduces the feeling position in detail and points out that the feeling position design will become the inevitable trend of gift packaging. The major research works are outlined as follows:1. From the point of feeling, analyze the gift packaging design, meet the need of people's feeling, accord with the development of the era, and bring forward the constructed guideline for the systematical and professional development of gift market.2. Put forward the principle of feeling position design of gift packaging systematically for the first time, which is mainly combined with attraction, instruction, culture, interactivity, moderation.3. Break through the traditional position principle and grasp the interactive feeling relation. The object that the traditional position principle analyses is just the only single or the only thing, while the object that the feeling position principle analyses is the relation, which is the position analysis for the feeling relation among the special feeling objects based on the special feeling character.4. Search for the cultural meaning and propagandize the national culture. At present, because of paying more attention to the decoration of gift packaging appearance, the diversity among them isn't, obvious. The application of cultural meaning will bring energy for the gift packaging design.5. The concept "moderate design" is introduced into the field of gift packaging design. At present, the situation of excessive packaging is serious, especially gift packaging. It not only causes the environment polluted and the resources wasted, but also brings about the ill consumption ethos in the society. The concept "moderate design" will be beneficial to the healthy development of gift packaging industry and the social sustainable development.
