Perception is the reflection of the whole things which directly acts on sense organ in the brain, is the process of people organizing and explaining sense information. And it is always an important research field in Psychology. At present, there are many perception researches about vision. Researchers did so many studies about figure perception, space perception, time perception and movement perception, and they found some interesting phenomenon, such as perceptual interference effect. Studying and uncovering those interesting phenomenon are helpful for understanding human's perception mechanism.Stimuli are less readily identified when clarified form a more degraded form than when shown all at once. This phenomenon is known as perceptual interference effect. Up to now, researchers use different methods and materials to study this effect, discuss its influencing factor, probe into its mechanism and reasons. Making a comprehensive view on these studies, we find that there are many researches on perceptual interference effect abroad, but few in China. At the same time, most of the researches are about English words and pictures, few is about Chinese characters, especially the Chinese two-character words. People study much on the effect of perception priming on this phenomenon, and little on category priming. What's more, Chinese characters is hieroglyph, and it should be similar to picture, but there is no positive research. In the three experiments, the freshmen in Southwest University try to recognize the Chinese two-character words in different conditions. We want to discuss the effect of category on perceptual interference effect, compare the different effect of with-category priming and...
