The Effects Of Uncertainty Of Positive Events On Emotions

Uncertainty is currently a prominent topic in many research areas, and these studies have important impacts on everyday life. However, compared to other research areas, research on uncertainty is not enough in psychological research areas. In recent years, scholars in foreign nations have explored the topic of uncertainty by conducting many studies about the effect of uncertainty in everyday life on individual's emotion, creating the new approaches for the study of uncertainty. From the foreign studies on the impacts of the uncertainty of positive events on emotion basically conclude that the uncertainty of positive events could prolong the positive emotion from the positive events in the ways that people do not anticipate the impact of the uncertainty. Most people still believe that they have a better emotion when a positive event is uncertain, and that they prefer to face certainty rather than uncertainty. In the present study, emotion statuses evoked by different storied were thoroughly studied, and by using different stories, explored the effect of the certainty and uncertainty of positive events on emotion concluded that in the such cultural back ground as china, certainty could provide peoples more pleasures than uncertainty , though certainty has different effect on emotion than uncertainty does.This research consisted of three experiments.
