Cause Analysis On The Impact Of Parenting Style Such On Teenagers' Mental Health Within The Single-parent Family

Abstract:The economic development of society and the impact of multiculturalism caused more and more families' desegregations. There are quite a lot of single-families in society, which become the frail and unstable social organizations in the exquisite social change. The incompleteness of single-family's structure limits its functioning, and easily impact children's growth. Especially in adolescence, the rebellion of children within single-families is not directed or understood by parents, children have to face the great changes of life and social relationship, which gives diversified conflicts and stress in the process of socialization. As a result, mental problems occur more often. Middle school is teen-ages' golden stage of mental and physical development. If not enough attention is paid or not essential measures are taken, children's mental health may be worsening, and it will have great effect on their characteristics, spirit, cognition and other aspects in the future.In various family factors of adolescents' growth, the parenting style is extremely important. The parenting style means the behavior tendency put up in parents' disciplines in daily life. It is an integrated embodiment of parents' educational concept and behavior. Good family relationship and atmosphere is helpful for the development of individual's early characteristics; contrarily, bad relationship between parents and children, strained relationship in family, lack of supervise of child, or immoderate strict, variable, or tolerant parenting style may cause children's various problem behavior in adolescence. Whereas, through the compare with the children in complete families, this research discusses the mental health of children, parenting style in single families, and the relationship between them. It doing Cause Analysis about parenting style effect on adolescent children's mental health in single families.
