This article takes the South Gansu Tibetan Area of the period the Republic of China as an example to do scientific research. Firstly, the paper discussed and analyzed the related Chinese historical records which had been picked up and reasonably management, and then introduced how the author used the historical literatures in the paper. And then, based on the analysis of the monk's system in Labrang Temple, combining the population of Xiahe county and condition of South-Gansu nomadic tribe families during the period of Republic of China, the author found out that: the monk's system in Tibetan temples absorbed large quantities of local male people to become into monks so that affected the proportion between male and female, which therefore suppressed population growth in some measure in Tibetan area. Simultaneously, this system objectively absorbed the superfluous population, reduced the labor quantities in the area, which reduced the environmental pressure the human being to the natural environment of Tibetan area. Seeing from the findings, the author reasoned that the existence and operation of monk's system in Tibetan Buddhism temples during historical periods has objectively adjusted the balanced populations, and balanced the growth of physical life material and the ecological environment in Tibetan Area. Finally, sorting out the Tibetan Buddhist authority's intervention between the production mode and ecological environment in Tibetan Area, the author briefly explored the influence on the ecological environment of Tibetan Area that the monk's system has affected.This article mainly includes the following five parts:Firstly, in this part the reason for the topic, the significance for the study and the current research situations were given. Separately indicates that the author's participation the national natural scientific project is the original reason of this topic. Discussing the relationship between temple monk's system and ecological environment in South Gansu Tibetan Area is the research goal and mentality. Enriches historical environmental trend research of Tibet Area is the theoretical significance.
