"Xin Meng" is a special social group which comes into being in the social reform during the Spring and Autumn period and the Times of Warring States. It is related with the contemporary social structure and contradictory circumstance of balance and conflict, maintainance and turbulence. So it is the outcome of the fierce conflict of the old and new social systems and their alternate development "Xin Meng" comes from the disintegration of clan. With the independence of large amount of individual families and the impetus of the policy of soliciting peasants in different states, "Xin Meng" emerge in large amount to different states to accept lands. The roving population comes to a climax in the period of Warring stated. With the improvement of the policy of dividing lands, they flow back to lands and combine with the lands. Therefore, the study of "Xin Meng" contains the research of the social and economic system and other sides of that period. My essay discusses the reason, the historic effects and solution of the problem of "Xin Meng" It is hoped that we can see a whole course of the social structure of the Spring & Autumn Period and the Times of Warring States from my essay.This essay covers 5 parts:1. It defines the concept of "Xin Meng" ,"Xin Meng" are peasants, who are separated from clans, going to different stales to accept lands.2. This essay analyses the outcome and reasons of "Xin Meng"3. The improvement of the policy of dividing lands helps solve the social problem of "Xin Meng" .4. The essay also analyses the historic effects of the outcome of "Xin Meng" and compares "Xin Meng" & "Liu Ming"5. The thought of Living peacefully and work contentedly in a fixed place also proves when the private ownership of lands occurred.There is a large amount of research of the social problem of Liu Ming by socialists But they seems a bit rough and superficial. The writer goes through a lot of books, in formation and data. It is hoped that the essay has value in the continual study of the social problem.
