Persistent Narration In Difficulties

Chi Zijian's works are always committed to the exploration of the kindness and beauty of humanity, paying attention to the world of people at the foot of the social ladder and showing deep concern for the nobodies. Simple and rational words struck into the numb soul of modern people, making them sad and arousing their hope in life again. The tenderness and warmth characterize her unique narrative, which also causes some criticism that her tenderness hinders the exposure of the evil in humanity and her own wishful tolerance prevents her from taking a forceful jolt and challenge to the spiritual crisis and dilemma in civilization at present. Contrary to this criticism, this paper discusses how Chi Zijian make unique meditation on the humanity: on the one side, she does not ignore to unmask the evil in humanity, on the other side, she does not give up the praise to the beauty of humanity in spite of many difficulties, even making it a faith in her literary creation. Through singing the praises of the beauty of humanity, she tries to realize the redemption of humanity in the force of morality.This paper is comprised of preface, text and conclusion.Preface mainly accounts for three difficulties in Chi Zijian's literary creation: the requirement of the time, the mainstream of literary circle and the hard situation of her own. Chi Zijian insists on unreeling the beauty of humanity in facing so many difficulties. The text discusses in detail her view of humanity: to uncover the beauty of humanity, to lay bare the evil in humanity and to deliver people from sin.
