Study On Li Guyi's Singing Style

Through investigation, literature research and analysis, the author divided the famous singer Li Guyi's artistic life into three parts from her singing experience for study: the period of pregnant, the period of autumn and the period of development. The article analyzed the characteristics and reasons of her singing style combined with representative songs of the time from the social culture background.. Li Guyi's achievement came from the national art representing our ethos. The special singing style came into being based on profound dancing practice on more than ten years'performance of Huagu Opera and her innovative spirit.Li Guyi went through the two huge changes in China's history: the Chinese Communist Party led the Chinese people to win the liberating war and the cultural great revolution. The out-spoken, easygoing, brave and decisive characteristics that she nurtured during her experience, being born in the time of chaos caused by war, wandering homelessly and lacking of the care from the parents, influenced her latter innovation of singing. The scientific, national, modern singing style formed by acclimatizing the request of expressing the people's true feeling and the development of times, amalgamating the national singing methods with scientific phonation methods and using for reference of popular singing style. From the study on the Li GUyi's singing style, we can find that the special fascination of the national musical culture and the innovative spirit are the two elements to form her singing style.
