A Study On The Security Management System Of Beijing In Ming Dynasty

Safety and harmonious stems from security; Security and stability stems from management. In accordance with national laws or regulations, relying on the masses, using administrative means, security management maintains social order in the normal production and life, and makes society safe, stable and harmonious. Behaviour is decided by thought .Management stems from idea. Management system originates from thought and idea. The enforcement of management system forms the foundation of management effectiveness or experience.Based on the basic theory of security management ,the papers focus on Beijing's security management system in the Ming Dynasty,analyzes the meaning,research, scope and purpose of the ancient security ,and divides the Ming Dynasty Beijing security area into three different regions which include 'Palace city', 'Emperor city' and 'Capital city'. After finishing this, the papers explore the source of capital security management and the guiding ideology behind the security management system, which was looked upon as the soul of the arrangements of security management system and the realization of security function.'Palace city' and 'Emperor city' located in the center of Beijing, making it the focus of security management. In the city, 26 Wei,Xi and Dong Chang and 24 Ya Men were set up to perform the fuction of following guard, guarding in'Palace city' and 'Emperor city' , patrolling superintend, inspecting emperor's foodstuffs diagnosing and taking down emperor's condtion; The security of 'Capital city' is also important. In the'Capital city', Jing Wei, 5 Cheng Bing Ma Si, Jing Ying Tuan Wei and Fan Wei were set up to perform the fuction of guarding a city gate and patrols down, managing household registration, managing market, managing traffic, managing fire; In addition ,in order to achieve the functions, influencing the general public was highly valued and some special prohibitions were also established. After clarifying Beijing public security authorities of the Ming Dynasty and the process of performing security function , the papers sums up its main characteristics and historical experience.
