| Translating is a typical contrastive analyzing activity, that is, a process of transferring an expression in a language into an equivalent expression in another one. The differences at the macro-level between English and Chinese, which reflect the differences in thinking modes between the West and the East, lie in paragraphs, among sentences and within sentences. Adapted to English readers' reading preference, the translated text must be composed on the basis of overall structure organization of the text in TL in the first place and, then, be adjusted to the linear logical order, more explicit texture, and concise diction. This thesis aims to find the rules of integration of various kinds of tourism information in translating, through the display of the sameness and the differences in the text structure and texture, and the distribution of the information. The contrastive analysis of the Chinese and the English texts are made first, based on which the method of translating according to the categories of information is discussed through the comparison of the Chinese and the English versions of the introductions to the tourist spots. |
