Study Of Hanshan's Poems

The community of scholars is basically in agreement on Hanshan's life now.But articlesabout his poems,especailly those concerned his thought,are not enough and systematicenough.This article confronts from the angles of Zen Buddhism,and is of the opinion thatHanshan's thought is identical to Zen Buddhism's.The article analyzes Hanshan's status fromfive aspects first to affirm that he was a monk-poet,eliminating the dispute on this issue.Afterlinking with Zen Buddhism's developing at that time,I classify Hanshan's poems and provethat Hanshan had characteristic poems besides the understandable ones.The article uses the comparative medthod when studying Hanshan's poem.After comparing with Wang Fanzhi and some literati,the article draws the conclusion thatHanshan found a way which is fit for him.
