In today's highly competitive market place, a product cannot be only designed to meet the needs of its performance. Much attention should also be paid to the consumer's mental image for the product in the design stage. Besides of shape and color, texture is the most important characteristic of product to be considered in design.Anciently, most reaserches focused on the physical properties of material or the perceptions of texture. And less investigation has been made into studying the texture's feeling about products. It is difficult to make a good design to meet the consumer's mental feeling if it considered just by form, color, texture, or the physical propertites of material. In this research, we take plastic as a case to study the matiral texture image of products. And Kansei engineering is used to switch the consumer's stable sensitivity feeling into quantification. The purpose of the study is exploring the opposition frames between texture elements and cognitive image of consumer's, then help designer to design the product conform to the consumer's feeling in efficient methods. The experiment of the research is taken based on Kansei engineering. And real plastic boards are used as samples. Multidimentional scaling methods, factor analyses methods and cluster analyses methods were involved to data processing in this research. The conclusions of research shows as follow:1. The experiment's conclusions show that product material texture image perception space is made up of two dimensions, sensory evaluation factor and utility factor.2. Plastic material texture image is composed of transparency, special artistic effect additive, surface texture, and color. The main element that affect sensory evaluation factor is transparency, while the other element that affect utility factor is special artistic effect additive.3. Forms about plastic material texture image are estabilished by using Quantification Type I. Finally the results of the T inspection show that the forms, which are used in electrical outlet designing, are possible to implement. |
