harmony is one of the key categories of China classical aesthetics, harmony's forming has deep original relation with the ancient agro-farming culture, the custom of clan worship and the philosophy thought of our country, It is the important embodiment of Chinese culture consciousness and spirit in the aesthstic field . In the course of long history evolution, harmony gradually formed two kinds of different aesthstic intensions: The Confucianists put emphasis on controlling feeling by the courtesy and pursuing people's harmony ; Taoist school emphasize harmonizing nature with people and pursuing nature's harmony. The main aesthetic character of harmony is as follows : harmony between man and nature, residing it rather than one, harmony but not uniformity , while holding dual-purposly . China aesthetic artistic conception coming from the evolution of nature-and-man combination has reflected the interrelation of aesthetic main object correctly, has produced a kind of aesthetic design that has elegance alone , has extremely high aesthetic value. As one of the key categories of China classical aesthetics, harmony has a very far-reaching impact on development of aesthetic and literature and art in later age.
