| The mental problems among the contemporary students have already caused the concern of the whole society. The mental character of talented people will be more important in the future. The educational practice of schools home and abroad proves that mental health education indicates an advanced education principle, and its universality contributes to the renewal of the education idea and the improvement of the education methods. So, strengthening the mental health education in schools has already become the world's consensus in education. The international community therefore makes the mental health education an important mark for modern schools.This article makes researches on the historical and present situation, ways and methods of the mental health education by using documents, description and comparison. We can see from the research that mental health education between China and the United States has a lot in common as well as some difference. The experience of the United States deserves our reference. We can draw lessons from them.
