The Survey And Analysis Of The Speech Sounds In Wuhan Putonghua

This thesis makes a survey of the speech sounds in "Wuhan Putonghua". "Wuhan Putonghua", one of the local common speeches, is an intermediary speech based on Wuhan dialect and evolved in the process when Wuhan people learn to speak Putonghua.The paper is divided into six parts:Part I serves as the introduction, which gives a brief account of the purposes and theoretical bases of this research paper, the status quo of the related study at home, methodology to be adopted in the survey and the speech sound material on the basis of which this survey is conducted.Part II briefly presents the theory of interlanguage and the application of its methodology in the study of local common speeches.Part III first sorts out the corresponding relationship between the speech sounds of Wuhanhua and those of Putonghua on the basis of the contrastive analysis of the speech sound system of Wuhanhua and that of Putonghua, and then gives to the greatest extent an overall account of the speech sound system of Wuhan Putonghua after making a survey of the speech sound material collected in Wuhan Putonghua in initial consonants, vowels and tones, thus summing up the types of errors in speech sounds when Wuhan people speak Putonghua.Part IV tries to, on the basis of the theory of interlanguage, make an analysis of the typical errors in the speech sounds of Wuhan Putonghua and the causes, and provide a reasonable explanation.Part V attempts to employ the results of the survey to find out an effective solution to the problem.Part VI, as the concluding remarks, gives a brief summary and points out the possible oversights and deficiencies in the paper.
