Lv Ye Xian Zong, written by Li Baichuan from 18 to 27 during the Emperor QianLong's time (1753-1762), is a serial novel with peculiar artistic characteristics at the middle of the Qing dynasty. This thesis focuses on the comparison research from different perspective and depths, which will be value for us understanding the essence of the novel and conferring its historical status among the novel in Qing Dynasty.The whole article can be divided into four chapters.Chapter one: In this part, first, it demonstrates the rationality of the current documents research and approves some conclusion of them by the research of Lv Ye Xian Zong's versions and the author's life. Then it reveals the author's cultural thoughts by comparing and illustrating the relationship of the two system of Lv Ye Xian Zong — the current hand-copied version and the carving copies.Chapter two: By analyzing the unique value-choosing view of the work from the demonstration of the world affairs and the trace of the immortal in Lv Ye Xian Zong and also by relating to a number of characters created in the novel. The article probes into the author's unique way of understanding the real life, the personal communication and family ethics.Chapter three: According to the structure model of the novel of the novel of immortals and devils, the article argues that Lv's narration structure was mixed with several different kinds of narration models and points out that the novel not only mixed with different narration structures appearing in the earlier novels, but also externalized the width and depth of the narration of the novel of immortals and devils artistically.Chapter four: Having explained that the beliefs expressed in the Lv Ye Xian Zong were of both Taoism and Confucianism, the article draw aconclusion that Lv Ye Xian Zong reflected the transformation of "enter the world" and "out of the world" and the deep cultural implication of compatibility of Taoism and Confucianism, which demonstrate the influence of the cultural concept of analyzing the culture of Taoism through the ways of Buddhism and Confucianism on the novels of popular in the Ming and Qing dynasty.
